Birthday Swim - 50 x 100 yards
The birthday swim was a big event this year. Not only was it the kick off of my 50 events but Paula had set up a trip to New York City to celebrate my birthday. I have never been to New York before, so this was a real treat. The problem was that I have never missed my annual tradition in 30+ years. so Paula researched a pool on Manhattan and arranged for me to swim. Asphalt Green is an indoor facility on the Upper East side which caters to under priviledged kids. The managment welcomed us and arranged for the swim. I had several people swim with me but only 2 people did the entire set. We did the set on an average interval of 1:15 which is quite a bit faster than what i have done over the past several years.
